Ostello Venezia (HI), Fondamenta di Zitelle, 86 (tel. 041 523 82 11; fax 041 523 56 89), on Giudecca. Take vaporetto #82 from the station (40min.) or take #82 or 52 from S. Zaccaria near S. Marco (5min.). Debark at Zitelle and walk right along the waterfront. Definitely institutional, but about as bright and cheerful as institutional can get, with a huge common area and a snack bar. English spoken. Dorms L25,000. Breakfast and sheets included. Dinner L14,000. Reception daily 7-9:30am and 1-10:30pm. Lockout 9am-2pm. Curfew 11:30pm. Reservations only through IBN from other HI hostels. Members only; temporary and full HI cards available.
