On Gold Mountain

This exhibition explores the history of a largely overlooked section of the Los Angeles population – the Chinese-Americans. Lisa See’s book lends its name to an exhibition that examines the events which characterised Chinese immigration from the end of the 18th-century to present day, both in California and through the United States. It also takes a look at the birth and development of Los Angeles’ Chinatown, with objects taken from over 50 local and national collections.
