The Nutcracker
As obligatory to the festive season as turkey and Christmas pudding, the perennially popular ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ returns to the stage. It’s lively a visual feast that is fun for children and adults alike. In 1891, the legendary choreographer Marius Petipa commissioned Tchaikovsky to write the music for a ballet version of ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ by ETA Hoffman and the rest is history.
