Plays at the Border
San Francisco’s Magic Theatre continues its tradition of supporting emerging playwrights with its fourth New Play Festival entitled ‘Play at the Border’. The festival features staged readings and a workshop production of several new works in development, each speaking to cross-cultural issues and border conflicts around the world. The plays address such relationships as those between Mexican and American cultures, Eastern and Western Europe and other cultures in collision. Playwrights offering work for the festival include Chay Yew, Klaus Pohl and Cherrie Moraga.
